Cycle Tracking Masterclass Recording + Resources
Thank you so much for attending! My workshops will only continue to get bigger and better. I love getting to talk about all things women’s health with you guys! If you need me, you know where to find me (:
The slideshow below is meant to be swiped through as I go through the talk in the above video
Workshop Questions Answered:
how do you check your basal body temperature?
- Make sure to talk about the need for a real basal body thermometer because it records a more accurate temperature down to the hundredth of a degree (two decimals points instead of one on a regular thermometer)
- Ideally you would leave in mouth for 10 minutes before taking temp for a more consistent temperature but I find the thermometer I use is fine.
Information on how histamine tolerance/MCA affects hormones/cycle/fertility.
When your estrogen levels rise, you release more of your own histamine. Histamine then stimulates your ovaries to release more estrogen - thus setting off a vicious cycle. In addition, estrogen stops your DAO from working well. If you are intolerant to histamine, you will not tolerate your own estrogen very well.
Also curious to know
What period panties you recommend and a link please?
I like RAEL period panties https://www.getrael.com/ and reusable pads and WUKA https://wukawear.com/
if you have higher estrogen how to you balance it naturally
Liver support to help rid your body of excess hormones and excess nutrients/toxins etc. Getting rid of plastics, xenoestrogens, etc. Reducing stress. Nutrient dense, whole foods diet. Blood sugar regulation, proper body movement, balanced light cycles, good sleep hygiene, etc. Again, I will be releasing a full master course going into greater detail than my workshops ever have on healing your cycle and tracking it as natural birth control. I will be sending out an email to the girls that subscribed to my email list when for the pre-launch announcement.
Can you explain plan b? What are your thoughts on it?
Plan B is basically a high dose of synthetic progesterone with the goal of delaying ovulation. Plan B come to find out is not as effective as it's touted. It doesn't strip an embryo from the lining nor does it have spermicidal properties. It simply is supposed to delay ovulation by stopping the release of the egg by throwing progesterone in to mitigate estrogen peaking to trigger that egg release so if you've already ovulated/released your egg or it was already fertilized, it's not going to work. Super small chance though because the window is already so small but still. That's why it's recommended to take as soon as possible.
What do you think about the Copper IUD?
I don't love it because a high percentage of women expel theirs once or multiple times. It can cause pelvic inflammatory disease and copper toxicity but if it's for like a teenage girl that doesn't have the bandwidth to track her cycle or something along those lines, I get it. As a non-hormonal form of birth control I don't hate it but think if you can avoid it that you should.
I purchased Natural cycles, what is your opinion on them?
I think they're great but a waste of money lol Kindara is free and the basal body thermometer is $15. You can still use your thermometer for kindara or what ever temperature device you got that records two decimal points
I’m taking supplemental progression (compounded from yams), 100mg nightly, will this affect my cycle tracking?
This will artificially increase your body temperature like anything with a progesterone effect (like plan B) will do. This could definitely interfere with your readings unless you've been taking it consistently for months and will continue to do so you'll still probably be able to find the pattern to track properly but it will most likely be interfering with your temps in a way that could confuse your interpretation of the health side. I can;t say for sure what will happen exactly. Track regardless and compare the pattern to what we spoke about.
you mentioned the foc phase temp but can you tell us the other temps for lutel phase and ovo phase
If you are metabolically healthy, during your follicular/ovulatory phases you should sit right above 97.5 F or 36.4 and then right above 98 or

if you’ve been off birth control for 5+ years do you still need to do the heal your period workshop
That depends on how your cycle is! You could have never taken birth control in your life and still have a hormonal inbalance or gut dysbiosis leading to an irregular cycle so that's very dependent on your individual situation.
How long does it take to heal your period tracking
Totally depends on where you're at in your healing journey, what your diet and lifestyle is like, what your level of damage is like and how much you're willing to commit to the changes you need to make.
Is vitex tea ok?
I love Vitex for helping to balance estrogen and progesterone! But again, only as temporary "training wheels" in addition to your diet and life style changes to expedite your desired affect.
What foods/teas should we be eating and drinking in which phases of our cycle?
Your metabolic needs go up during your luteal phase and you cleanse nutrients during your menstruation so I would say focus on more nourishing, nutrient rich and warm foods during your bleed like bone broth and organ meats. Some extra carbs and protein (healthy carbs not refined) in luteal and then more of your veggies/fruit and high protein/fat during follicular and ovulation especially if you're exercising quite a bit. I love red raspberry to increase progesterone in the luteal phase as well as dandelion root during the same time to help the liver get rid of excess estrogen, etc.
Does the use of medications like ibuprofen impair our fertility/ovulation?
Short answer is yes because it damages the gut lining and microbiome.
Castor oil packs good for liver and ovarian cyst?
The short answer is yes. Castor oil can help decrease inflammation in a localized area as well as Ricinoleic acid in castor targets the lymphatic system, which helps your body produce or increase the production of lymphocytes.
Lymphocytes are the body's natural disease enemies and they help drain the body of any toxins and proteins that have built up over time.
This is an important process to make sure by keeping your immune system strong enough so it can fight off any nasty diseases that you may be exposed to from outside sources.
Castor oil packs are just one of the many sacred tools used in different forms of traditional medicine.
There are many ways to use castor oil, including over the liver. People even opt for essential oils for detoxing their liver.
It’s a great method to help support an optimized liver function, improve detoxification and reduce inflammation in the liver area. In addition, it can be used with other treatments relating to mental health concerns, hormonal imbalance, detoxification issues, or actual organ problems within the liver.
Thoughts in supplemental progesterone compounded from yams
I don't love it if you can increase your progesterone in other ways that are sustained by diet and lifestyle changes. The Yams are just going to be a temporary fix and the root needs to be solved. Make sure it's a high quality source if you can.
What causes clots during menses despite blood work showing good hormone levels per naturopathic dr?
Blood work honestly isn’t the best way to check mineral levels in the body. An HTMA is. Blood levels tend to stay homeostatic because that’s what you need in the moment to survive but an HTMA (hair tissue mineral analysis) will show us what we’re detoxing and not detoxing. It gives us a snapshot of what’s been going on for the last 2-3 months as opposed to blood work that only shows us this day/moment. It shows us the RATIO between minerals which gives us a road map of what’s happening metabolically, hormonal and what’s happening with adrenals and digestion even. It’s simply a hair sample and it’s the cheapest functional test and one of the most conclusive. As long as the lab is done by Trace Elements you’re good! I would have to know other symptoms but it could be stress, fibroids, endometriosis, abnormal cell growth or just diet. Hard to know unless we have more information!
What are other infections that could affect menses besides STDs? I know you’re not answering now-just asking for paper your sending later haha thank you so much
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID): PID is a complication of certain STDs like chlamydia and gonorrhea. It occurs when the infection spreads from the reproductive organs to the upper genital tract, including the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. PID can cause inflammation and scarring in these areas, which may lead to irregular menstrual cycles, heavier or lighter periods, or even missed periods.
Stress and Illness: Contracting an STD or dealing with the emotional stress and anxiety associated with it can lead to hormonal changes in your body. Stress and illness can impact your menstrual cycle, potentially causing irregular periods, missed periods, or changes in menstrual flow.
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV): HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, weakens the immune system. As the immune system plays a role in regulating hormonal balance, HIV infection can lead to menstrual irregularities in some cases.
Other STD Symptoms: While the STD itself may not directly impact your period, some accompanying symptoms like abdominal pain, fever, and fatigue can affect your overall health and potentially lead to menstrual changes.
Medications: In some cases, medications used to treat STDs or their complications, such as antibiotics for bacterial infections, might cause side effects that can influence your menstrual cycle.
What do I do during my fertile window?
Condoms, cervical cap or diaphragm, "pull-out" or abstinence (you also have hands and a mouth I'm just saying lmao). Pullout should only be done if you trust your partner and are 100% certain that he knows his body and respectfully knows when to pull out safely. Up to you girl but just make sure you're being safe and have confidence in yourself and your partner to make smart decisions.
How much red raspberry and dandelion root tea?
1 tsp each steeped for 6-8 minutes and 1 cup daily during your luteal phase. Make sure they are organic!
Does the pullout method work even when I’m ovulating?
The pullout method is not 100% reliable as there is a very small amount of sperm in pre-cum so pregnancy IS possible but highly unlikely so proceed with caution and your own discernment.
